Voting levels in Truro nearing half of 2016 levels with election day on Saturday
The municipal and Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP) election date is looming on Saturday and voting numbers in Truro are nearly half of their 2016 levels.
Returning Officer Ken Henderson tells our newsroom that overall voting in the town as of 8:30 a.m. today was at 21.65 per cent.
That's compared to 45.6 per cent overall for the 2016 election.
To date, voting in all three wards is above 20 per cent, with 10,466 voters eligible to cast an electronic ballot.
Voting opened in Truro last week, and the polls closing at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Advance polling stations are open again today, as well as tomorrow, in the Municipality of Colchester.
