Youth facing charges following weekend stabbing in Church Point


Police say a youth is facing charges after a 17-year-old was stabbed in Church point early Sunday.

Officers responded around 1:00 a.m. September 13 to a stabbing complaint.

RCMP say the 17-year-old was stabbed in the chest following a confrontation with another male at a social gathering.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.

Police say the suspect was located and arrested in the Yarmouth area Monday morning.

RCMP say the 17-year-old youth from Yarmouth is scheduled to appear in court on September 14 on charges of Attempted Murder, Assault and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
