Woman fails to return from unescorted temporary absence from Nova Institution in Truro
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says a warrant has been issued for a 24-year-old woman who failed to return to a Community-Based Residential Facility in Truro.
Laura Jane Stanley-Smith was on an unescorted temporary absence from the minimum-security unit at Nova Institution for Women.
The CSC says Truro Police were immediately contacted.
Stanley-Smith is serving a sentence of five years, four months, and 21 days for armed robbery, robbery, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply.
She's described as 5'3" and 128 pounds with a fair complexion, blue eyes, long brown hair, and piercings in her nose, ears, lip, and tongue.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Truro Police Service.
