Kylie Minogue To Appear As Hologram In Upcoming Musical

Kylie Minogue will be hitting the road later this year and early next, but not in the flesh. She will be a hologram!

The Aussie pop legend has announced that she will join the travelling musical production of I Should Be So Lucky: The Scott Aitken Waterman Musical when it kicks off in Manchester for a three-week run on November 2. Minogue will “digitally appear throughout the show as a specially created character unique to the musical.”

“I’m thrilled to announce that I will be joining Stock Aitken Waterman in presenting the new musical, I Should Be So Lucky,” said Minogue in a statement. “It is the music that inspired a generation (plus my first five albums) so to have all the SAW hits in this original story will make for a compelling, funny and heartfelt show. Let’s enjoy the magic all over again!”

The upcoming musical is based on songs produced by The Hit Factory, the dominant production team consisting of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman that ruled the UK's pop scene throughout the '80s and '90s. Minogue was one of their biggest artists, scoring massive hits such as "The Loco-motion," "Especially for You," and the musical's namesake, "I Should Be So Lucky."

The musical was written and directed by Debbie Isitt, featuring all 25 songs SAW wrote for Minogue as well as hits by Rick Astley, Bananarama, and Jason Donovan. According to the official site, the story follows "Ella and Nathan, a young couple, hopelessly in love, and about to take the biggest step of their lives – marriage. Until it all goes wrong."
