15-year-old youth charged following 'series of incidents' in Riverview
A 15-year-old youth faces several charges following a "series of incidents" in Riverview.
The RCMP responded on Sunday to a report of a pickup truck stolen from a business on the corner of Archibald St. and Dufferin St.
It was spotted by police a short time later but fled the scene at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction.
Police didn't pursue the vehcile.
The pickup truck was located on a dirt road before fleeing from police again.
The driver fled on foot after officers stopped the vehicle by deploying a spike strip.
The youth, who is from Riverside-Albert, is charged with assault with a weapon, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and theft over $5,000.
He's scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
A court-ordered publication ban is in place.
Police continue to investigate.
