COVID-19 outbreak declared at Edmundston Regional Hospital
The Vitalité Health Network has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Edmundston Regional Hospital.
As of Friday, the facility had 14 admitted patients with COVID-19, including three in ICU, and exposures in three nursing units.
The Network says admissions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on each patient's condition, and limited to cases where admission is required.
Visits by designated support persons are suspended until further notice, except for patients at end-of-life and in obstetrics, pediatrics, and intensive care.
Vitalité says there is a "slowdown of activities" in surgical, ambulatory care, professional, and medical imaging services, and patients are asked to only come to the hospital for bloodwork in cases where it cannot wait.
