N.B. reports 5 additional COVID-19 related deaths, 82 new cases and 95 recoveries
Public Health reported five additional COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday.
Officials say a person in their 60s in Zone 2 (Saint John Region), a person in their 50s and a person in their 80s in Zone 3 (Fredericton Region), a person in their 80s in Zone 5 (Campbellton Region) and a person in their 80s in Zone 6 (Bathurst Region) have died.
There have now been 80 COVID-19 related deaths in New Brunswick overall.
Of the 82 new cases reported on Wednesday, 61 are under investigation, and 21 are close contacts of confirmed cases.
95 recoveries were also reported.
New Brunswick has 1,074 active cases of COVID-19, with 68 people in hospital, 27 of whom are being treated in ICU.
As of Wednesday, 90.9% of eligible New Brunswickers have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 81.6% are fully vaccinated.
