Public asked to limit overnight visits to Edmundston Regional Hospital ER to emergencies only
The Vitalite Health Network is asking the public to limit overnight visits to the Emergency Department of the Edmundston Regional Hospital to emergencies only.
The temporary measure is due to a shortage of medical staff in the facility and is expected to last two weeks.
The network says the ER will remain open for those needing urgent care.
Those whose health situation is not critical are asked to see their family doctor, nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic, or call Tele-Care(*811).
Vitalite says those visiting the ER fro non-urgent reasons should be patient and expect longer-than-usual wait times.
