Public asked to reduce demand on Emergency Department in Edmundston

Vitalite Health Network - Bigger

The Vitalité Health Network is asking the public to limit their visits to the Emergency Department at the Edmundston Regional Hospital to emergencies only.

This temporary measure is due to an unforeseen shortage of medical staff in the facility for the next two weeks.

The network says the department remains open for those who need urgent care, but those whose health condition is not critical are asked to see their family doctor, nurse practitioner or community pharmacist, to to a walk-in clinic or call Tele-Care 811.

Vitalite says those visiting the Emergency Department for non-urgent reasons should be patient and expect longer-than-usual wait times.
