City Hall and Offices to Close Sept 29

Since 2021, the City has recognized the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday. As a result, City Hall and all offices will be closed on Friday, September 29 and operate on a holiday schedule. Please note that the tax deadline has been extended until Tuesday, October 3.

City Hall: 

Closed Friday, September 29. Regular hours of operation resume at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 2. 

Public Works: 

Closed Friday, September 29. Regular hours of operation resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, October 2. 

Transit: 

Transit terminal remains open at regular hours.

Guelph Owen Sound Transit (GOST) will operate its regular schedule. 

Owen Sound Transit and Mobility Transit will operate at regular hours.

Waste Management: 

The Transfer Station is open at regular hours.

The Leaf & Yard Waste Compost Site is open regular hours from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Friday waste collection schedules are not impacted and will continue as normal.

Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library: 

Open regular hours on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.

Visitors’ Centre: 

Closed on Friday, September 29 and open regular hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.

Tom Thomson Art Gallery: 

Closed on Friday, September 29 and open regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 30.

Recreational Facilities: 

The Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre is open regular hours.

The Bayshore Community Centre is open regular hours.

The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is open regular hours. 

Owen Sound Police: 

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-1234 and for emergencies call 911. 

Owen Sound Fire & Emergency Services: 

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-2512 and for emergencies call 911. 

By-law Enforcement: 

Complaints or questions can always be submitted online. The By-Law office will be closed on Friday, September 29 and regular hours will resume on Monday, October 2 at 8:30 a.m.
