Creston Man Convicted Of Several Serious Charges Remains in Jail

Meszarosi

A 40-year-old Creston man who jumped bail twice has been sentenced to an additional six months in jail.

Chad Meszarosi was found guilty of a long list of charges from incidents over an 18 month period.

They include a Feb 2021 shooting in Crawford Bay where two people were wounded.

He was also convicted for making a death threat, break, enter and theft, as well as escaping custody.

The judge knocked a year off Meszarosi's sentence for time already served.

Meszarosi is back in court next week to set a trial date on separate charges of assault, uttering a death threat and unlawful confinement.

Creston RCMP made public appeals for information into Meszarosi’s whereabouts when he failed to show up for court appearances on two occasions.

Police described him as a “prolific offender.”
