Nelson Fire and Rescue is seeking the help of up to 40 volunteers and everyone taking part should receive a free t-shirt and light lunch.
RCMP Declares Success after Review of Major Drug Bust
Police would have liked more convictions, but consider the major drug bust of March 2020 in Trail a big success. Detachment Commander Mike Wicentowich said getting a kilo of methamphetamine, 300 grams of cocaine and about 90 oxycodone pills off the street was a major disruption of the local drug trade.

RCMP Investigating Break In to Kootenay Saving Credit Union
Nelson RCMP are still looking for suspects in last Tuesday's early morning break in at the Kootenay Savings Credit Union on Highway 3A in South Slocan. Police said nothing of value was stolen.
