Dead and Company To Play Las Vegas Sphere Residency
Dead and Company are planning on a return to the live scene with a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas.
After completing The Final Tour last summer, the Grateful Dead offshoot will come back for a series of shows at the state-of-the-art venue that has been searching for a successor to U2's run of shows.
Scheduled after their contemporaries Phish will play a four-night stint, Dead and Company — featuring Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, with bassist Oteil Burbridge, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, drummer Jay Lane and guitarist John Mayer - are booked for at least 15 shows, Rolling Stone reports.
The band confirmed the Sphere gigs on socials with a video teasing that despite having played their final tour, "there are other ways to make sure the music never stops." Adding that "it's gonna be a ball," before showing their signature Steal Your Face logo projected onto the venue's giant outer screen.
No dates or ticket details have been shared just yet, but the New York Post reports that the shows will be announced some time this week.
