Town hall event on Terrace’s downtown crisis set for July 14th.

The City of Terrace has announced the date for when its town hall on the city's downtown crisis will take place.
The "Community Dialogue on the Downtown" event will happen on July 14th from 6 to 9 p.m
The virtual event, which was proposed by Councillor Lynne Christiansen, will allow the public to share their views and suggestions on social issues facing the downtown, including homelessness, mental health, addiction, crime and safety.
Mayor Carol Leclerc, who will moderate the event, says the city is seeing increasing challenges in the downtown core which are affecting everyone, including individuals, businesses, community organizations and visitors.
Last month, these challenges prompted the city to declare that the downtown is in crisis.
The event will be broadcast live on the city's website and Facebook page. Those who wish to speak can join online through Microsoft Teams or through a phone call.
The city invited Skeena MLA Ellis Ross and Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach to attend the town hall. Both of them confirmed to CFTK that they plan to attend.
Invitations were also sent out to Premier John Horgan and several provincial ministers.
