#SnowPatrol's Icy Weekend
What’s up guys, it’s Jenna and Jenna, your C100 #SnowPatrol! Can we just talk about the amazing weather this weekend?! Like hello blue skies, haven’t seen you in a while… Of course we made the best out of the beautiful weather and spent the whole weekend outside! We first fuelled up our cruiser at the Sobeys Express Needs FastFuel in Upper Tantallon so we were ready for a little Saturday roadtrip to Peggy’s Cove. The waves were MASSIVE when we got there – and don’t worry, we stayed off the black rocks. It was pretty windy and chilly but there was still tons of people soaking up the sunshine and we got them warmed up with our smoking hot G-Street Pizza calzones. And what’s a road trip without karaoke??? We blasted one of our fav songs in our 2020 Tucson from Steele Hyundai and went to our next location.
We stopped by the Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival presented by East Coast Credit Union and were SO impressed with all of the ice sculptures lining Portland Street. We even got to see one of the artists in action - chainsaws and all. The campfires were too tempting so we grabbed a free cup of hot chocolate and roasted some marshmallows while listening to great live music.
Part of the Ice Festival was a free public skate at the Zatzman Sportsplex and we got to see some of our favourite princesses… Elsa and Anna! We skated laps around with kids who may or may not have showed us up with their cross over skills. We had so much fun taking pictures and drinking even more hot chocolate (we might need a break after this weekend).
We went from one rink to the next just in time to catch the Nova Central U10 Tigers ringette team taking on their sister team. The parents hooked us up with cowbells to cheer on the team as loud as we could! They came out with a huge 11-7 win and we’re super excited to see them win even more games during provincials! If you want us to come cheer on your team, make sure to fill out the form on our contest page and we could be seeing you soon!
Our Sunday was spent outside alllll day long because we just couldn’t pass up the clear skies and sunshine. We got the skaters at the Emera Oval fuelled up with our G-Street Pizza Calzones samples and also gave them a chance to win a Family Staycation from Hotel Halifax! We laced up and hit the ice to skate a few laps before we headed back to Downtown Dartmouth. When we arrived at the Ice Festival, the ice sculptures were all finished and looked AMAZING. There were so many unique designs and we may have loved this Frosty one a just little bit…
We are loving being able to go out to all of these fun community events and show our love and support and are excited to do it all again next weekend! Stay tuned to see where we’ll be and what fun things we have planned!!! See you soon!
