Event Information: Open mic night and silent auction / bake sale on November 23 (6pm-9pm) at the Newcombville fire hall in support of The Meisner Family: https://facebook.com/events/453843222004989/?ti=icl

Lisa Meisner (mom) has spent the last month or so struggling with unexplained stroke-like symptoms that have left her unable to speak, move the right side of her body, walk, or to organize her thoughts. Doctors in bridgewater are still unsure, but have given her a diagnosis of conversion disorder.  Matt (dad) and Bella (eldest child) have been experiencing a wide range of medically unexplained or misdiagnosed symptoms for more than ten years. In August, Matt and Bella visited a Lyme specialist in Maine, USA who has given them the clinical diagnosis of chronic Lyme disease and coinfections. Matt and Bella have started long term treatment, and will be required to see the doctor in Maine every three months, for one to four years, depending on how well they respond to the treatment. It is in Lisa’s best interest to see the doctor in Maine as well. The unfortunate reality is that this doctor is located in another country, and is a ten hour drive, one way. The cost for one appointment is $600 usd each, plus the cost of several prescriptions needed for treatment. Despite their best efforts, The Meisner’s are not financially equipped to cover these costs, for three people, every three months, on their own. Many local families would find themselves in the same position if they were to need medical services that are not available (due to government regulations) in Canada.
