Rain at times heavy ending near noon then cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Risk of thundershowers early this morning. Amount 10 to 20 mm. Wind northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming northwest 40 gusting to 70 this morning then diminishing to 20 gusting to 40 late this afternoon. Temperature steady near 15. UV index 2 or low.


Wendesday night: Cloudy. Clearing overnight. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light after midnight. Low 14

 MSVU campus will be closed until 1 p.m. today. All classes regularly scheduled for this morning are cancelled and all buildings will remain closed. We will assess later this morning to potentially open this afternoon.



All branches and departments of Halifax Public Libraries will open today at 2:00pm with the exceptions of Musquodoboit Harbour and Sheet Harbour Public Library, which will remain closed for the day. #nsstorm 


All HRCE schools will be closed today (Sept. 23, 2020) due to the potential impacts of tropical storm Teddy making landfall in the region. More details at http://hrce.ca

NSCC Metro Campuses (Ivany, Aviation, IT and Akerley) are closed today due to weather conditions. Remote learning and college services will continue.

CCRCE Schools in Pictou County and the Municipality of East Hants will be closed today due to potential inclement weather from Hurricane Teddy

-Halifax Citadel National Historic Site is closed until further notice
-The Mercantile Social is expected to be closed all day today, and for lunch service on Wednesday. 
-Curbside collection of garbage, organics, and recyclables is cancelled for Wednesday, Sept. 23 and is rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26.
-FIN Atlantic International Film Festival is extending online access for all non-gala films until Sunday, September 27 at 11:59 p.m. All other Gala Presentations will maintain their original access dates.
- Halifax Shopping Centre reopening at noon.
-MicMac Mall reopening at noon. 
- The Canada Games Centre is closing will delay opening today to 11am.
-The road to Peggy’s Cove, Lawrencetown Road, and Highway Number 207 from Seaforth and Chezzetcook have been closed to non-residents.
-First Lake Early Learning Centre in Lower Sackville is closed until noon .

-The opening of Stadacona, HMC Dockyard, Windsor Park, Willow Park and Shearwater is delayed until noon due to stormy weather conditions.

-Edward Jost Children's Centre and Edward Jost Annex in Halifax are both closed today due to weather and road conditions.
