Coles Island bridges detour now open

New Brunswick Government

Government says the detours for the Coles Island bridges are now open to traffic.

The two detour bridges will take the traffic off existing bridges, to allow work to begin on their removal.

Construction of permanent replacement bridges is expected to begin in 2021 and be completed in three years.

The province estimates the project will cost $45-million, with Ottawa kicking in $22.062-million through the National Trade Corridors Fund.
