Fredericton man facing child pornography-related offences

A 34-year-old Fredericton man has been charged with accessing and possessing child pornography following a lengthy investigation.

The RCMP say the charges are in connection with images of child sexual abuse on the internet.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in the city on July 24th, 2019 following information received through the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.

Police seized several electronic devices and William Logan Murphy was arrested.

He appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court on December 18th and is scheduled back in court on January 29th to enter a plea to the charges.

The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, which includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, along with RCMP Digital Forensic Services Unit and the Fredericton Police Force were involved in the investigation.
