BC Hydro outages on the West Shore on Tuesday

A couple of power outages on the West Shore Tuesday morning.

One was planned the other -- wasn't.

An unplanned outage affected 1383 homes and businesses in Langford south of TransCanada Hwy, West of McCallum Road just after 9am.

BC Hydro crews restored power within an hour.

Another outage nearby - for equipment upgrades - is affecting 66 homes and businesses east of Humpback along Irwin Road.

Power isn't expected to be restored to that neighborhood until 3pm.

Preliminary results show the BC NDP's Ravi Parmar has won the seat previously held by former Premier John Horgan, securing more than 53% of the 13,542 total votes cast.
