Canada-wide warrant issued for man who fled a Nanaimo road check

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a variety of driving offences for a man who who fled a Nanaimo road check in Mid-June.

Police say 29-year-old Marcus Allan Williams is wanted for a variety of driving offences.

At 11:30 PM on June 13th Williams was stopped at a road check and asked for his drivers license, but instead he sped off.

Through investigation the identity of the driver was learned.  Since he has not been located a warrant was issued.

 Williams is wanted on the Criminal count of driving while disqualified, and 5 counts under the Motor Vehicle Act -- including failing to stop for police.

He has family and friends across Vancouver Island, but it's believed he is not currently on the island.  His photo is circulating on social media.
