Christmas decorations remain in place in many homes across Victoria, Canada, and around the world.

Monday January 7 marks Christmas for Orthodox Christians, including Russians, Armenians and Ukrainians.

Ethiopian Christmas or Genna is also celebrated on January 7.

Malanka or "Generous Eve" is the Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian folk holiday celebrated on Sunday January 13 -- which is New Year Eve in accordance with the Julian calendar.

The Ukrainian Cultural Centre on Douglas Avenue is hosting a traditional dinner and Veselka dance performance Friday night to herald the New Year.

​Those who follow Buddhism will mark the Mahayana (New Year) on Monday January 21. 

Chinese New Year falls on Tuesday February 5.
