Saanich police remind residents to secure homes, after sexual assault in Gordon Head

Saanich Police are warning Gordon Head residents to be vigiliant, as they investigate an alleged armed sexual assault on the weekend.

A man armed with a knife entered a townhouse in the 3900-block of Wolf Street around 2am Sunday morning, and sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman.

The woman from the mainland was visiting University of Victoria friends overnight. She did not know the suspect.

She describes the man as tall, with short blond hair. He appeared athletic and may have been wearing glasses.

Investigators remind residents to lock doors and windows. They say it's possible the suspect had knew that particular residence was not secure.

Sannich Police are asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area surrounding the Gordon Head Townhouse complex to contact them.
