Salt Spring murder-suicide sparks GoFundMe for victims' sons

A GoFundMe page set up to support 3 children, left alone after their mother was the victim of a murder-suicide on Salt Spring Island Monday, has raised over $49,000 in its first day,and is still climbing.

The brother of 41 year old Jennifer Quesnel told CTV Vancouver Island that she had recently left her husband John, 48.  But she returned to the property on Monday to gather some things and visit her horse, when she was ambushed and shot twice.

The couple leave 3 sons between the ages of 12 to 16 -- Jake, Dan and John Jr .

The GoFundMe campaign -- called "Jennifer Quesnel Children's fundraiser"  -- says friends and family are "trying to wade through the senseless and life-altering loss" adding Jennifer was taken from during a time she felt positive about her future.

A trust fund has been set up to continue to care for and support the boys as they deal with the loss of both their parents in such an incomprensible way.
