UPDATE: $10,000 reward offered for location of Langford man missing since March 9
Joshua Bennett's distraught family is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the location of the missing 31-year-old man.
Bennett has been missing for 11 days.. He was last seen leaving Langford Lanes on the evening of Saturday, March 9.
West Shore RCMP have searched the surrounding area with the assistance of the Dive team, K-9 unit, Search and Rescue, RCMP drone, and the Langford Fire Department.
His uncle, Clayton Leachman, says an appeal for information has garnered tips suggesting Joshua may be in serious danger.
Dozens of volunteers mobilized in Langford last weekend to search for Joshua, but came up empty-handed.
Bennett is white, 6 feet tall, with short black hair and brown eyes.
Surveillance camera footage shows him taking a short cut through an industrial area. He was last seen wearing Levis brand blue jeans, a distinctive olive green Volcom jacket, and black shoes.
Joshua was supposedly heading to visit his friend Sean Paterson at his house, just a few blocks away. Paterson says Josh's girlfriend was over, along with some other friends, and they were expecting Bennett. He never showed up, and Patterson says he can't comprehend how he could go missing.
"How do you disappear in two blocks pretty much, three blocks from my house, it's not a far walk. He was there on one camera, and then not on the next one. So what happened between here and there? It wasn't late at night, it was 9:30 on a Saturday night, so someone must have seen or heard something."
Clayton Leachman, says it's very out-of-character for Joshua to disappearance.
"Josh, he's a straight shooter, he has his life under control. This is so not like him. Josh is a journeyman carpenter, he owns his own home, at 31 -- this kid's amazing. Something's gone wrong, we need to find out what."
West Shore RCMP are asking anyone who sees Joshua or knows anything about his whereabouts to call 911 or Crime Stoppers.
