UPDATE: RMCP close investigation on "pushing incident" at Thetis Lake

West Shore RCMP have issued a statement regarding the May 19th investigation of a report of a woman who was allegedly being pushed off a cliff while hiking at Thetis Lake in View Royal.

The victim, 29, told police shortly after she encountered a group of three women, she was pushed off a 12-metre cliff into the water.

Investigators say they've determined the incident 'did not occur' as was originally reported -- and suspects are no longer being sought in relation to this matter.

West Shore RCMP are not considering charges of filing a false report against the complainant.
