Victoria has Lowest Unemployment Rate in Canada
Victoria posted the lowest unemployment rate in the country in the month of September.
Statistics Canada released its latest jobs report Friday, saying that the economy created 67,200 jobs in September. But the national unemployment rate remained unchanged at 7% because more people were looking for work.
BC's rate edged up slightly to 5.7%. Despite the increase, it was still the lowest provincial rate in the country.
Victoria's jobless numbers remained unchanged at 4.7%. That's the lowest unemployment rate anywhere in Canada.
