Rod Stewart Reveals He Beat Prostate Cancer
Rod Stewart revealed this past weekend that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago.
“I thought this was about time I told everybody,” the 74-year-old singer and father of eight said at a fundraising event in England. “I'm in the clear, now, simply because I caught it early.”
Stewart said doctors told him in July that he has beaten the cancer.
In Canada, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men (not counting skin cancer) and the third leading cause of death from cancer in men, according to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Stewart urged men to get checked. “Guys, you've got to really go to the doctor,” he said. “Finger up the bum, no harm done.”
