WATCH: Lars Ulrich's sons rock a fuzzy cover of 'Eleanor Rigby'
Lars Ulrich's sons, 21 year old Myles and 18 year old Layne, put together a fuzzy rendition of The Beatles' 1966 classic, "Eleanor Rigby".
The cover was originally recorded as part of Ulrich's appearance on Marc Benioff's Salesforce Fireside Chat.
In conversation with Rolling Stone, Ulrich was beaming over his sons' musical talents. "It was like this insane, three-minute Blue Cheer, crazy, garage-rock version of ‘Eleanor Rigby‘. Obviously, there’s been some incredible versions of ‘Eleanor Rigby‘ along the way but I’m pretty sure there’s never been one that had this kind of sound, this kind of feel, this kind of energy and madness to it. I was like, ‘You know what, boys? You done me proud.'"
When asked about Metallica recording new music, Ulrich told Benioff that the band is trying to find a viable way of recording while being separated. "That’s obviously something that we’re circling and we’re very excited about.”
