WATCH: Montreal choir performs COVID-safe Pink Floyd cover

Just hours prior to the Quebec government imposing a ban on gatherings of more than 25 people, a local Montreal choir gathered for a rather unique a capella performance.

The vocal ensemble, known as Les Voix Ferrées, came together in a socially distanced manner in a setting that is very characteristic of Montreal—the backyard balconies of a multiple dwelling unit on the Plateau Mont-Royal.

Taking inspiration from the countdown to the impending ban on gatherings, the vocalists felt it appropriate to cover Pink Floyd's "Time".

The session, captured on September 20, was arranged by Jean-François Julien, with musical direction from François A. Ouimet. Gabrielle Beaulieu-Brossard can be heard on the piano. Editing and production by Martin Gaudreault with help from Colin Riendeau. And the video was shot by Hugo Chouinard, Jordan Cowan, Dorian Florimond et Félix-Albert René.
