Rapids to kick off MHL exhibition season on Sunday

Grand Falls Rapids

The Maritime Hockey League has announced the start of the 2020-21 exhibition season.

On Sunday, the Grand Falls Rapids will travel to Campbellton to face the Tigers at 3 p.m. as the first of a number of games to be confirmed to this point.

The league says a number or rules and protocols will be in place at the Campbellton Civic Centre to allow the game to proceed.

A mask must be worn at all times in the building until you're sitting in your seat, at which point the mask can be removed as long as two-metre physical distancing is maintained.

There will only be on entrance to the arena, which will open just ten minutes before warmups start, no tickets will be sold online, and the ticket office will close an hour and a half before game time.

Each team will communicate their protocols to be in line with provincial health authorities.

The league recently announced that the start of the regular season would be pushed back to October 30th.
