A spokesperson from the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNR) says no evacuations have been ordered in relation to the Debec wildfire.

Nick Brown confirmed the information in an email to our newsroom, adding that the New Brunswick Emergency Management Office (NBEMO) hadn't ordered any evacuations either.

The wildfire near Sherwood Road is still listed as out of control by DNR.

As of 11 a.m. on Friday, the blaze had grown from six to eight hectares, with sixteen personnel on site.

The fire was reported around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

On Thursday, three water bombers were brought to assist DNR staff and firefighters from two local departments.

Our newsroom has also received reports that a red 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV was stolen from the scene.
