More stolen property charges laid

A man facing charges of possession of stolen property and weapons offences is now facing additional charges.

The Bugle Observer reports 29-year-old Jordan Burrell of Lower Knoxford was in court Tuesday to enter a plea relating to charges of possessing a stolen side-by-side and rifle, and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

The paper says Burrell was charged with two more counts of possession of stolen property and an additional firearms possession charge during the court appearance.

The charges stem from an incident on January 16, 2020 when police executed a search warrant at a home in Lower Knoxford.

An RCMP release says several items were recovered during the search, included side-by-sides, ATVs, firearms, chainsaws and various tools, and Burrell and 26-year-old Simon Thomas were arrested at the residence.

The Bugle Observer says Burrell adjourned his pleas so he could retain counsel and will return to court on Tuesday March 17.
