Education in Quebec is facing one of its toughest years yet as school boards are grappling with deep budget cuts for the 2025-26 school year. The provincial government has mandated a massive $570 million reduction across school service centres—forcing boards to rethink staffing, vital programs, and day-to-day operations. In response, the Quebec English School Boards Association is gearing up for a legal challenge, and several boards—including the English Montreal School Board—are likely joining in.
