Errors and discrepancies on newly published list of CHSLDs with COVID-19 cases

Now that the lists of CHSLD's and private seniors homes with cases of COVID19 are back on line, people are noticing some glaring errors.

Families of loved ones at the CHSLD Angelica in Montreal North tell that they received an email from the residence this week updating them : 125 positive COVID cases, and 55 deaths.

But the health ministry's list shows only 34 COVID cases and 16 deaths.

The CHSLD Kastner in Côte-des-Neiges is listed as having three COVID cases and nine deaths. An update from the center dated May 13 obtained by CJAD 800 says there have been 158 residents infected and 45 deaths.

The list also shows no information available for the % of residents with COVID19 versus the number of beds occupied for 20 facilities including the Jewish General Hospital and the Montreal Geriatric Institute. But some of the facilities either don't have residents or are facilities that don't normally house seniors, such as the Institut universitaire de santé mentale.

The Jewish General lists one death but families tell CJAD 800 there were more than one.

Some facilities are listed as being the responsibiity of the one health authority when they are actually with another.

The Résidence Rive Soleil in RDP is listed as having one COVID case. The residence was closed eight years ago.

CJAD 800 is still waiting for the health ministry's response.
