Two local PetSmart stores to mark National Pet Adoption weekend
PetSmart stores across Canada including Niagara, will celebrate National Pet Adoption weekend starting today.
The Welland District SPCA will be set up at the Niagara Falls store with close to 100 pets up for adoption.
On Saturday, the store will honour the weekend with a family fun event from 11-4 pm.
There will be a BBQ, face painting, a bouncy castle, vendors and a penny sale with all proceeds going back to the SPCA.
Author/singer/songwriter, Tia McGraff will also be on site to talk about her book "Jake the Road Dawg" based on her late rescue dog, Jake.
The St. Catharines PetSmart in St. Catharines is partnering with the Lincoln County Humane Society and will have almost 70 pets looking for a forever home.
Both adoption events run to Sunday.
