UPDATE: Three injured after plane crash in Saint-Lazare

SQ 2 (lapresse)

Three people were wounded, two of them seriously, in the crash of a small plane on Saturday in Saint-Lazare, west of Montreal.

Emergency services received a call at approximately 4:20 p.m. for a CESSNA-branded aircraft that crashed into the trees of a private property on Chemin St. Louis.

It was not immediately certain if the pilot had been attempting to land.

When the police arrived at the scene, a man was already outside the aircraft. He appeared to suffer only minor injuries. Two other people were trapped inside the plane.

Those two men were rescued from the plane by firefighters. The aircraft did not ignite.

The two rescued passengers suffered serious injuries, and were taken to hospital.

A Sûreté du Quebec investigation is underway.
