Veteran health reporter losing faith in Quebec's handling of the pandemic
"I'm afraid I'm losing faith in the way the government is managing the situation in Quebec," said Aaron Derfel health reporter for the Montreal Gazette.
Derfel sees the potential danger that comes with Montreal reopening this week.
With the possibility a second wave of covid 19 in the fall and continuously high infection numbers in the city, he thinks opening Montreal may be premature.
Derfel wonders about premiere Francois Legault's reason for loosening restrictions.
"It's clear that the premiere cares deeply about the situation. But sometimes I think that he might be in a rush to open up Quebec for economic reasons," said Derfel.
Derfel is worried in particular about the situation in hospitals, many of which are still heavily crowded.
