Your weekend road closure roundup for Nov. 30-Dec. 3
Once again, getting to and from downtown Montreal and the west end will be a challenge this weekend, as work to rebuild the Turcot interchange plods on.
The westbound Ville-Marie Expressway — aka Highway 136 — as well as a section of Highway 20 west, from Exit 5 (Robert-Bourassa Blvd.) in the Ville-Marie tunnel to 1st Ave. in Lachine will be shut down at 11:59 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.
A handful of corresponding on-ramps will also be closed during that period, including the entrance to the 20 west at Ste. Anne de Bellevue Blvd., the one at St. Antoine and Rose de Lima Sts.
Also during that time, the access to the 20 west from the Decarie Expressway will be closed off.
Eastbound, the Ville-Marie Expressway will be closed between the Turcot and the entrance to the tunnel during that same period, along with the ramps from Highway 15 south and the 20 east which connect with the Ville-Marie. The ramp from the 20 east to the Decarie will also be closed.
Also during that period, there will also be a partial shutdown of the Decarie north, from the Turcot to the N.D.G. tunnel. Two out of four lanes will be closed.
The Mercier Bridge will be closed in the southbound direction from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, and during that period, northbound traffic will be cut to one lane, to allow for one lane of southbound traffic. The Airlie St. entrance to the bridge will also be closed.
The entrance to the 15 south from Atwater Ave. to the Champlain Bridge will be shut down from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.
Also, Highway 25 south — including the Lafontaine tunnel — will be closed on Friday night, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. between the Souligny Ave. exit and Highway 132 on the south shore.
