Disturbed's David Draiman Wants To Sing The Anthem At Super Bowl
The dudes in Disturbed have tasked their fan base with a mission. Getting their lead singer, David Draiman, to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
Is it realistic? I mean, a quick glance at the existing poll on Billboard’s website wouldn’t inspire a lot of faith. Their official poll (which has no bearing on who ACTUALLY gets to sing said anthem at said sporting event, to my knowledge) has some of the biggest names in music today. But, if you’d like to see a bit of rock at the Super Bowl (a spectacle that almost NEVER includes any form of rock), maybe it’s worth a try? For what it’s worth, David Draiman sounds pretty into it.
"I love my country, and I would be honored beyond words to have the opportunity to try and inspire, strengthen, and give hope, at a time when we need those things more than ever.”

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor is into it.
It’s long overdue for rock and metal to be represented at the Super Bowl. Let’s make our voices heard in support of our brother David Draiman of @Disturbed and let the @nfl know we want him to sing the anthem. https://t.co/OhHxA5Q1QI— Panickin’ Skywalker (@CoreyTaylorRock) October 7, 2019
I suppose crazier things have happened. The band did get some mainstream attention from their ‘Sound of Silence’ cover, which has more than half a billion YouTube views.
It also got them on Conan, where David showed off he could pull the vocals off, in a live setting. So, never say never?
