LISTEN: Three New Rock Songs For Your Weekend!
I thought I’d try something a little different for this week’s Friday Dude News. A little new music, anyone?
I, like you (I assume), am always on the lookout for new rock. Hell, new music in general. So, I thought I’d share a few tracks that have been getting regular play over at Castle JD.
Let’s start with a cool Deftones remix, from none other than Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. It’s a unique take on an iconic song that also just happens to featuring the great Maynard James Keenan on guest vocals, alongside Chino Moreno. The remix comes from the 20th anniversary of Deftones’ ‘White Pony’, and a special edition they’re calling ‘Black Stallion’, out December 11th.
Second, one of the latest from the UK’s Bring Me The Horizon, a band with roots in metal that’ve gone a bit poppy with their last couple of efforts, much to the chagrin of their fans. Their new EP, ‘POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR’ dropped a couple of weeks ago, and features some gigantic choruses, alongside a return to some of the chunky riffs that endeared them to many in the metal community years ago.
And lastly, one that kind grew on me over the last week. Teenage Wrist, a California rock band with a tinge of grunge, and a bit of shoegaze, while also sounding a little Jimmy Eat World on this chorus, no?
Anyway, thanks for humouring me for something different this week! I’ve been meaning to try this for a while. Let me know if you dig it, and maybe we can make it a regular thing, with an ongoing playlist for streaming services, too.
