Meet Canada's Next MMA Star, Who Took A Fight On 5 Days Notice, And KICKED ASS!
You'll be forgiven for not knowing Tristan Connelly's name until now. This time last week, we were all unfamiliar with him. But, he's on the radar now, after UFC Vancouver.
Tristan had a big night on Saturday, taking a fight on only five days notice, against a less than ideal opponent. He was squared off against Michel Pereira, a high flying Brazilian. Connelly was easily the biggest underdog on the card, but apparently nobody told him that.
Canadian kid, biggest underdog on the entire card, took the fight on five days notice...and kicked ass, at home. Canada’s proud of ya, Tristan! https://t.co/gJAJEx8Jie— JD 🥃 (@JDfromCJAY) September 15, 2019

Oh, and it gets better. Not only did he get Fight of the Night honours...
He also got 20% of his opponents purse, and his half of the FOTN bonus, too. That's more his appearance fee, 20% of his opponent's, and $100K. Not a bad weekend for a dude who was just pleading for an opportunity on Twitter a few days ago.
