A 38-year-old Sudbury man is facing several charges following a robbery Nov. 1 at a pharmacy on Bancroft Drive in Greater Sudbury.

Police received the call at 10 a.m. about a man who "entered the pharmacy, pulled out what was believed to be a handgun and demanded narcotics," police said in a news release Wednesday.

"The man fled the pharmacy with an unknown quantity of prescription drugs."

A K9 track failed to find the thief, but it turns out the man fled the scene in a vehicle. Police found him Nov. 3, just before 1 p.m., on Lasalle Boulevard and arrested him.

"Shortly after the arrest, a Criminal Code search warrant was executed at the man’s residence where officers located narcotics, as well as, illicit drugs including crack cocaine and cocaine," police said.

The man is charged with robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise, weapons possession, possessing a firearm when he is prohibited, drug possession and driving while suspended.

He was scheduled to be in bail court Wednesday in Sudbury.
