SUDBURY -- Members from the Nipissing West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the Dokis First Nation community on Dec.3, where police seized an estimated $8,000 in suspected fentanyl and three family members were arrested on drug trafficking charges.

The search warrant was executed at a residence on Subdivision Road with assistance from the Anishinabek Police Service (APS).  Police also seized over $5,000 in Canadian currency.

The accused are all from the Dokis First Nation community.


A 56-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman have both been charged with:

•             Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

•             Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

 

A 26-year-old man has been charged with:  

•             Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

•             Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

•             Failure to Comply with Release Order

•             Possession of a Schedule I Substance


All three individuals were held pending a bail a hearing.
