Sault Ste. Marie police cruiser. (CTV Northern Ontario)

According to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, officers responded to call a involving a person barricaded in a home on Boundary Road at around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Officers from Sault Police's Mobile Command Unit, O.P.P., Anishinabek and Batchewana Police attended the scene, along with fire services.

As of 6 p.m., police confirm that the individual was taken into custody. 

No charges have been laid. 

Boundary Road, which was closed to traffic, is now open.
