Police were still at a southside home Thursday morning after two bodies were found inside on Wednesday night.

Police are investigating after two bodies were found inside a south Edmonton home.

According to the Edmonton Police Service, officers were called to the home at 111 Street and 78 Avenue on Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. and discovered two bodies inside.

The deaths are being called suspicious and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.

Forensic officers were at the home on Thursday afternoon. 

Autopsies have not yet been scheduled.

Neighbours told CTV News Edmonton that police activity is unusual for the area.

"We were shocked," Adam Hennebery said. "We were kind of worried and scared obviously that is happened so close, right next door."

"It's kind of a weird disconnect because I don't know them at all but it's so close," Emma Hope said. "It's definitely weird."
