Man dies after 'suspicious' incident in Mississauga

A man has died following a suspicious incident in Mississauga Friday morning, Peel police say.

A man has died in hospital after an incident in Mississauga on Friday morning that Peel police are calling suspicious.

Const. Donna Maurice said at around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a person “running up a street screaming” in the area of Terry Fox Way and Galesway Boulevard, south of Britannia Road West.

When officers arrived, they located a man on the sidewalk suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

Maurice said the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on the scene.

She did not disclose the nature of the man’s injuries but said “there was a large amount of blood” when the victim was found.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

Maurice said they don’t have any suspect information at this time.

“We are actively conducting our investigation to determine if there are one or more (suspects),” she said.

“We have officers canvassing the area to obtain any information they can with regards to video or if anybody heard or seen anything.”
