Some tense moments Wednesday at a North Bay high school after an unknown man tried to gain entry, sending the building into a hold and secure protocol.
Officers were called to West Ferris Secondary School shortly before 3 p.m. after an adult male tried to gain entry into the building.
"The school effected a hold and secure when the incident was identified," North Bay Police Service said in a news release Thursday. "Officers attended and identified an adult male a short distance from the school and following an interaction it was determined there was no malicious intent by the individual."
Eric Krmpotic, a school liaison officer, was one who attended the scene.
"This is what we practice security drills for and thankfully everything worked out," said Krmpotic. "Police are thankful for the fast action of the students and staff which kept everyone safe."
