The road has now reopened, Sudbury police said Tuesday afternoon.

"We would like to thank everyone for your patience," police said in a tweet. :The investigation into the collision is ongoing."

Update No. 1:

An 86-year-old man was killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Azilda, Greater Sudbury Police said.

The man was the lone occupant of the vehicle, police said in a tweet. He was pronounced dead at Health Sciences North.

"Deepest condolences to his family and friends," police said in a tweet. "His name won't be released out of respect for his family's wishes. Road remains closed. Barricades and detours in place."

The investigation ongoing, police said.

One person has been seriously injured in a one-vehicle collision at Marier Street at MR35 near Azilda.

Greater Sudbury Police said in a tweet Tuesday that one-person is seriously injured as a result of the crash.

Fire and paramedics are also at the scene. Traffic heading into Azilda from Chelmsford can detour at Marier Street, police said. Westbound traffic coming into Azilda can take Notre Dame Street at MR35.
