Greater Sudbury police are investigating what they are calling a serious collision (Alex Lamothe/CTV Northern Ontario)

Two people were sent to hospital with injuries following a collision Saturday afternoon in Sudbury. 

Police first tweeted out about the incident shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday.

TRAFFIC DISRUPTION - Be advised 2 of the south bound lanes of Municipal Road 80 at Turner Ave are presently closed for a serious collision investigation. Expect delays and please be patient as emergency personnel are working in this area.

In the tweet, officers said that two of the southbound lanes of Municipal Road 80 at Turner Avenue were closed as officers conducted their initial investigation.

One individual was treated for a broken pelvis while another was treated for a broken leg.

In a second tweet posted just before 7 p.m., officers said all lanes had been reopened. 

Greater Sudbury Police would like to advise that MR80 also known as HWY 69N now has all lanes open in both directions. We appreciate your cooperation and care when driving through this area while officers conducted their collision investigation. Have a good night.
